The Southeast of Saline Trojans will head out to challenge the Halstead Dragons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Southeast of Saline's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
On Friday, Southeast of Saline was fully in charge, breezing past Hillsboro 52-16. Southeast of Saline hasn't had any issues with Hillsboro recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Grady Gebhardt had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 154 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 8.6 yards per carry, and also picking up 54 receiving yards. He is also on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Tiernan Ptacek was another key player, throwing for 125 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Southeast of Saline was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 320 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 166 rushing yards in seven consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Halstead was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were beaten by Ellsworth 42-14. The Dragons were already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed eight in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Edric Zorn, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Halstead's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Southeast of Saline, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.
Everything went Southeast of Saline's way against Halstead in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as Southeast of Saline made off with a 38-15 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Dragons' Joey Millspaugh, who rushed for 94 yards and one TD on only 12 carries, and also picked up 48 receiving yards. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for the Trojans to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
