Softball Recap: Central Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Central extended their winning streak to four on Saturday, bumping them up to 5-2. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured an 8-7 W against the Sonoraville Phoenix. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Lions also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2023.

As for Sonoraville, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. On the bright side, the seven- run performance marked their highest-scoring match to date.

For Sonoraville's part, Ellie Wofford made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Marley Hall, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Central will head out on the road to square off against Villa Rica at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season. As for Sonoraville, they will head out to challenge Bremen at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
