Baseball Preview: Eastern Eagles vs. Paint Valley Bearcats
The Eastern Eagles will be taking part in a tournament against the Paint Valley Bearcats at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The last four games Eastern has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Things were looking good for Eastern after they put the first run on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of South Webster by a score of 3-2.
Dawson King was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Eastern saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trey Mugrage, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
