Basketball Recap: Scripps Ranch Extends Winning Streak to Six

Scripps Ranch extended their winning streak to six games thanks to a huge performance from Clare Valentine. The Scripps Ranch Falcons enjoyed a cozy 62-46 victory over the Morse Tigers on Friday thanks in part to Valentine, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and ten rebounds. The game was her sixth in a row with at least ten points.

Esme Martinez was another key player, putting up nine points and six boards. Those six rebounds gave her a new career-high.

Scripps Ranch is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.7 points per game. As for Morse, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-9.

Scripps Ranch will head out on the road to face off against El Capitan at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Scripps Ranch knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully El Capitan likes a good challenge. As for Morse, they will take on Santa Fe Christian in a tournament on February 1st.
