Softball Recap: West Platte Has No Trouble Against Bishop Leblond

West Platte had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Bishop LeBlond on Monday. The Bluejays were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over the Eagles. The Bluejays haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Sophie Grier made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits (and only one walk). Grier was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Addy Hughes was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Molly Cline was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

West Platte's record is now 4-2. As for Bishop LeBlond, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Platte will welcome Penney at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bishop LeBlond, they will be playing at home against Maryville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
