Soccer Game Preview: Castro Valley vs. Berkeley

The Castro Valley Trojans will head out to challenge the Berkeley Yellowjackets at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Castro Valley is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

Castro Valley lost 5-2 to Piedmont on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 547th, while the Highlanders are ranked 247th).

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Berkeley brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They blew past Encinal 7-0 on Thursday. Mia Sieminski was a massive factor in the win as she booted in three goals all by herself.

Berkeley's victory bumped their record up to 3-6-3. As for Castro Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
