Baseball Recap: Pueblo Central Wildcats vs. Eagle Valley Devils
It's playoff time, and Pueblo Central had no trouble coming through when it counted. They had just enough and edged out the Eagle Valley Devils 4-3.
Cole Billings made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Pueblo Central is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 9-11 otherwise. Billings was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple was his first of the season.

In other pitching news, Pueblo Central got a great performance from Chase Swerdfeger as he struck out seven batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Those seven strikeouts gave Swerdfeger a new career-high.
Back at the plate, Jayce Ibarra was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2025.
Pueblo Central now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Eagle Valley, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 17-4 record.
