Basketball Game Preview: Mount Union Trojans vs. Huntingdon Bearcats

Mount Union is 0-10 against Huntingdon since December of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. The Mount Union Trojans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Huntingdon Bearcats at 6:00 p.m. That match will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Maddie Dimoff and Lily Fiscus.

Last Saturday, Mount Union came up short against Moshannon Valley and fell 46-35.

Loss or not, Mount Union got some senior leadership from Cailyn Skopic and Dimoff. Skopic posted 14 points along with seven steals and five assists, while Dimoff went 6 of 13 to rack up 13 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. Skopic is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kymber Osborne, who put up six points.

Meanwhile, everything went Huntingdon's way against Bald Eagle Area on Monday as Huntingdon made off with a 55-32 victory. The Bearcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 23 points or more this season.

Huntingdon's win bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Mount Union, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-13.

Mount Union was taken down by Huntingdon 58-14 in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Fiscus, who almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine assists. Now that Mount Union knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
