Softball Recap: Fillmore Central Comes Up Short

Wilber-Clatonia hit Fillmore Central with a five-run third inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Panthers fell 11-6 to the Wolverines. The Panthers' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Calli Gonzales made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Addison Treinen was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Fillmore Central's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Wilber-Clatonia, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-5.

Coincidentally, Fillmore Central and Wilber-Clatonia will both be playing Freeman the next time they take the field. The Panthers will host the Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Wolverines will play them later in the day, at 7:30 p.m.
