Baseball Recap: Sullivan County Comes Up Short

Sullivan County had lost five straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-15 to make it six. They came up short against the Benton Tigers, falling 10-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 24-1 back in April.

Sullivan County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tucker Blasi, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

As for Benton, their record is now 9-5. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by six runs or more this season.

On Benton's side, they got a massive performance out of Dalton Koch, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Layne Latorra, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Sullivan County has already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Sayre on the 11th. As for Benton, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 1-0 loss against Central Columbia on the 12th.
