Basketball Recap: Madison Takes a Loss

Madison lost against Hoover back in January of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Madison Warhawks received a blow as they fell 48-34 to the Hoover Cardinals.

Despite the loss, Madison still got an impressive performance from Aniyah Murrell, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 boards. Those 15 rebounds gave Murrell a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hailee Bracy, who posted eight points and five boards.

Jewel Parker continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Hoover, putting up 21 points. Parker has been hot, having posted 18 or more points the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Myesha Frank, who had ten points.

Madison now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Hoover, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Madison has already played their next contest (against Clairemont), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Hoover will head out on the road to take on San Diego at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hoover is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53 points per game this season.
