Basketball Recap: Highland Snags Seventh Victory in Last Nine Games

Highland's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 55-39 victory over the Mullen Mustangs.

Highland's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emilee Searle, who went 6-for-11 on her way to 14 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. Bailey Williams was another key player, shooting 40% from the field en route to 12 points along with six steals and five boards.

Highland has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Mullen, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Coming up, Highland won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Hamilton at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Hawks will be up against the Huskies' rather soft defense (which has allowed 54.8 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. Mullen has already played their next game (against Christian Brothers), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
