Basketball Game Preview: Chowchilla Tribe vs. Los Banos Tigers

The Chowchilla Tribe will head out on the road to face off against the Los Banos Tigers at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday. Chowchilla is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.8 points per game this season.

Chowchilla is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped last Saturday as they easily beat Chavez 60-20. The Tribe have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 31 points or more this season.

Bella Gonsalves was the offensive standout of the game as she posted 11 points and four steals. Gonsalves is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Heaven Moore, who had eight points.

Chowchilla smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Los Banos over Rancho San Juan in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Tigers blew the Trailblazers out of the water with a 47-19 final score. 47 seems to be a good number for the Tigers as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Los Banos has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 47 points this season. As for Chowchilla, their record is now 3-1.

Chowchilla ended up a good deal behind Los Banos when the teams last played back in December of 2024, losing 49-35. Can the Tribe avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
