Basketball Game Preview: Midd-West Mustangs vs. Selinsgrove Seals

Midd-West is 2-8 against Selinsgrove since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Mustangs will be playing at home against the Seals at 6:00 p.m.

Midd-West is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Shikellamy on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Mustangs were outmatched by the Braves and fell 60-17. The Mustangs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-8.

Despite the defeat, Midd-West had strong showings from Izzy Walter, who posted seven points and seven boards, and Julia Boop, who put up two points. That was a full 41.2% of the Mustangs' points, marking the third time in a row Walter has earned more than a third of the team's points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Selinsgrove). They came out on top in a nail-biter against Juniata on Monday, sneaking past 39-37. The win was some much needed relief for the Seals as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Selinsgrove's victory bumped their record up to 2-10. As for Midd-West, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

Midd-West took a serious blow against Selinsgrove in their previous meeting back in January of 2025, falling 68-17. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Mustangs were down 42-9.
