Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Metter walked away with it. They were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Wheeler County Bulldogs on Wednesday. Considering the Tigers have won ten matchups by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Metter pushed their record up to 14-13 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Wheeler County, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-14.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Metter beat the Bulldogs by a score of 15-2 later that day.
