Recap: Poly Bears vs. Rialto Knights
The Poly Bears were the 36-33 winner over the Rialto Knights when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Poly was the victim of a tough 53-31 defeat at the hands of Rialto on Monday. While losing is never fun, Poly can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 343rd, while Rialto is ranked 15th).
Despite the loss, Poly still got an impressive performance from Nea Denton, who scored 14 points. Denton scored a full 45.2% of Poly's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Paisley Johnson, who scored 6 points.
Carrington Davis was her usual excellent self, shooting 4-for-7 from downtown and dropping a double-double on 28 points and 14 rebounds for Rialto. The contest was Davis' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Destiny Rabino was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Poly now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Rialto, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Poly will face off against San Jacinto at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Rialto, they will square off against Moreno Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
