Volleyball Recap: Hancock Comes Up Short on the Road Against Oak Lawn

Hancock kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell 2-0 to the Oak Lawn Spartans. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Spartans: they've now lost five in a row.

While Hancock ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-17.

Vanesa Fonseca paced Hancock's offense, picking up three kills. Fonseca really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with four. Tiffany Garcia and Alyssa Diaz kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with three aces apiece.

The victory got Oak Lawn back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Hancock will host Holy Trinity at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Oak Lawn, they will take on Proviso East in a tournament on Friday.
