Baseball Game Preview: Windsor Academy Knights vs. Covenant Academy Rams

For the second straight game, Windsor Academy will face off against Covenant Academy. The Knights will host the Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Windsor Academy is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.

Windsor Academy came up short against Covenant Academy on Monday, falling 9-3.

For Covenant Academy's part, Ethan Mills was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off ten hits. Covenant Academy is undefeated when Mills posts ten or more strikeouts, but 7-13 otherwise. Mills was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Asa Wood was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Covenant Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 6-13 when he doesn't). Landon Sneed was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Covenant Academy's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-13. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Windsor Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-17.
