The California Interscholastic Federation Southern Section high school girls basketball playoffs are underway.
The championship contests will be held Feb. 28-29 with the Walter Pyramid at Long Beach State University serving as the host site for the Open Division. Finalists competing for state championship hardware in all other divisions will take the court at the Felix Events Center at Azusa Pacific University, Colony High School or Godinez High School.
Defending champions include Windward in the Open Division, Chaminade (Division 1), Orange Lutheran (Division 2AA), Lakeside (Division 2A), Santiago/Corona (Division 3AA), Diamond Ranch (Division 3A), Northview (Division 4AA), Santa Fe (Division 4A), Linfield Christian (Division 5AA) and Bloomington Christian (Division 5A).
