Soccer Game Preview: Eastlake vs. Temecula Valley

The Eastlake Titans will take on the Temecula Valley Golden Bears in a tournament on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Eastlake is headed into the contest having not lost since December 14 and will look to keep things rolling. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over Los Alamitos on Thursday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Titans' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 108th, while the Griffins are ranked 22nd).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Temecula Valley). They walked away with a 4-2 win over Patrick Henry on Thursday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Golden Bears needed considering they were shutout in their previous match.

Temecula Valley picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 2-4-1. As for Eastlake, their win bumped their record up to 5-1-3.
