Soccer Game Preview: Norco vs. Centennial

The Norco Cougars will head out to face off against the Centennial Huskies at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. Norco will be strutting in after a victory while Centennial will be coming in after a loss.

It was a proper cat-fight when Norco took on Corona on Tuesday. Norco's defense stepped up to hand Corona a 2-0 shutout. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 159th, while the Panthers are ranked 383rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Centennial's offense. They fell just short of Santiago by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. The Huskies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Centennial's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7-2. As for Norco, their win bumped their record up to 12-3-2.

Norco beat Centennial by a goal in their previous meeting two weeks ago, winning 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Norco since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
