The Timberline Wolves will venture away from home to challenge the Eagle Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Timberline is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Idaho's top teams: Rocky Mountain, who was ranked second at the time (Timberline was ranked fourth). The Wolves walked away with a 31-20 victory over the Grizzlies on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolves.

Jack Brant had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 260 yards and three TDs, while also rushing for 33 yards. Brody Engroff helped out on the ground, rushing for 92 yards.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Eagle). They claimed a resounding 53-6 win over Borah. The Mustangs have beaten the Lions the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Lions has come to flipping the script.
Timberline better keep an eye on NOAH BURNHAM. He was instrumental in Eagle's win, rushing for 215 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 15 carries, while also picking up 71 receiving yards and three scores. AUSTIN RAMSEY was another key signal caller, throwing for 171 yards and four TDs.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Eagle was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 347 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in three consecutive contests.
Timberline's record now sits at 7-1. As for Eagle, their record is now 8-0.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Timberline has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 155.9 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Eagle struggles in that department as they've been averaging 227.5 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Timberline suffered a grim 32-10 defeat to Eagle in their previous meeting back in October of 2021. Can the Wolves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
