Preview: Carmel Padres vs. Seaside Spartans
The Carmel Padres will head out on the road to square off against the Seaside Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Carmel is hoping to put an end to an 11-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
On Tuesday, Carmel lost to Greenfield on the road by a decisive 41-22 margin. While losing is never fun, Carmel can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1184th, while Greenfield is ranked 492nd).
Carmel's defeat came about despite a quality game from Savanna Radowicz, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Myah Koster, who scored four points along with two steals.
Seaside can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They secured a 53-48 W over Monte Vista Christian. The win was just what Seaside needed coming off of a 73-24 loss in their prior contest.
Carmel's loss dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Seaside, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-7.
Carmel came up short against Seaside when the teams last played back in December of 2019, falling 43-35. Can Carmel avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
