Baseball Recap: Bainbridge Comes Up Short

If Bainbridge was feeling good fresh off their 10-2 takedown of Monroe last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bainbridge Bearcats lost 17-8 to the Dougherty Trojans on Tuesday. The Bearcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2021.

Bainbridge's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-8-1. As for Dougherty, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 7-2.

While Bainbridge had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
