Football Recap: Florence Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Florence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 57-7 loss at the hands of the Hico Tigers. The Buffaloes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Eduardo Rios-Reyes threw for 71 yards and one TD on only five passes. Mariano Palacios was his top target, picking up 71 receiving yards and one score. On the ground, Jayden Fuentes rushed for 33 yards.

Florence's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Hico, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Florence will venture away from home to take on Llano at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Buffaloes' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Hico, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on De Leon at 7:00 p.m. on October 10. The Tigers will be up against the Bearcats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29.8 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
