Baseball Recap: Morrow Beats Lovejoy for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Morrow hadn't done well against Lovejoy recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Morrow won by a run and slipped past Lovejoy 4-3. The win was familiar territory for the Mustangs, who have now won four matches in a row.

Malachi Mingo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Zoran Galloway was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Morrow's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 6-2 (and 4-7 when he doesn't). Preston Ward was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Morrow now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Lovejoy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9-1.

Morrow will have a chance to go back-to-back against Lovejoy: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
