Softball Recap: Palisade Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Palisade dropped to 12-7 on Wednesday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins on the road. They fell just short of the Fruita Monument Wildcats by a score of 3-1. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Bulldogs couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Fruita Monument, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 15-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games.

For Fruita Monument's part, Teagan Clements spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up seven Ks. Clements has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lauren Englehart, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

While Palisade had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
