Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Monroe Area). They never let the East Hall Vikings get on the board and left with a 14-0 win on Tuesday. The Purple Hurricanes have beaten the Vikings the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Vikings has come to flipping the script.

Monroe Area's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for East Hall, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Monroe Area will challenge rival Jefferson at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Purple Hurricanes 3.4, the Dragons 0.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, East Hall is set to square off against their familiar foe Cherokee Bluff at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
