Soccer Recap: Ironwood Ridge Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Salpointe Catholic

On Friday, Ironwood Ridge faced Salpointe Catholic in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Ironwood Ridge Nighthawks came up short against the Salpointe Catholic Lancers, falling 8-2. The Nighthawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lancers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2017.

Ironwood Ridge's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 12-2-1. As for Salpointe Catholic, the win was the 15th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-1.

As of now, neither Ironwood Ridge nor Salpointe Catholic have any future games scheduled.
