Huntington Beach had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.5 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They beat the Temecula Valley Golden Bears by a goal, winning 3-2. Given the Oilers' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 58th, while the Golden Bears are ranked 415th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Olivia Young and Sienna McAthy scored all three of Huntington Beach's goals, bringing their combined season tally to nine goals.

Huntington Beach pushed their record up to 5-1-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored nine goals over those three matchups. As for Temecula Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
