Soccer Game Preview: Red Bluff vs. Chico

Red Bluff hasn't had much luck against Chico recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Red Bluff Spartans will square off against the Chico Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Red Bluff will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

Red Bluff's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They won by a goal and slipped past Enterprise 1-0. Give the Spartans' defense some credit: that's the team's fifth straight shutout.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Chico took on Foothill on Wednesday. Both finished up on equal footing with a 0-0 draw. The result (or lack thereof) was the first time the Panthers have been dealt a draw since back in November of 2024.

Red Bluff pushed their record up to 12-3-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those five contests. Chico's draw gives them a new season record of 5-3-3.

Red Bluff suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Chico when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can Red Bluff avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
