Baseball Recap: Goodrich Wins Going Away Against Bendle

Goodrich came out on top against Bendle on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run first inning. The Martians were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Tigers. Considering the Martians have won nine matchups by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Goodrich let Chris Starkle and Kash Bohlen run wild. Starkle went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Bohlen went 3-for-4 with one home run, one triple, and two RBI. Those two hits gave Starkle a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Baszler, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Goodrich was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .458. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Goodrich has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Bendle, the defeat snapped their winning streak at eight games and leaves them with a 11-2 record.

Looking ahead, Goodrich is taking a road trip to challenge Armada at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Bendle, they will host Atherton at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
