Baseball Recap: Fairfield Gets the Win

Fairfield won against High Point Baptist Academy on Friday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Knights walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Shalom Christian Academy Flames. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 6-5 victory two weeks ago.

Fairfield let Jacob Liller and Riley Brown run wild. Liller went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double, while Brown went 2-for-4 with two runs and two doubles. Fairfield is 6-3 when Brown posts two or more runs, but 4-8-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Michael Petrakos, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

The win made it two in a row for Fairfield and bumps their season record up to 10-11-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Shalom Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7.

As of now, neither Fairfield nor the Flames have any future games scheduled.
