Basketball Recap: Alisal's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Alisal was the 68-54 winner over Hollister when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Alisal Trojans took a 45-30 bruising from the Hollister Haybalers on Thursday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Trojans came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 176th, while the Haybalers are ranked 384th).

Despite the loss, Alisal still got an impressive performance from Yarit Rodr?guez Rodr?guez, who posted ten points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Rivera, who put up five points and four steals.

Alisal's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-6. As for Hollister, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Alisal will challenge Piedmont Hills at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Hollister, they will take on Salinas at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Salinas' favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Hollister has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
