Woodland benefitted from Summers in 14-4 win
Winning always takes teamwork, but on Friday Jacob Summers stepped things up a notch to give Woodland the 'W'. McDonough had no answer to Summers as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit (and only one walk).
Summers' strong effort led Woodland over McDonough and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. Woodland is 3-0 against McDonough going back to April of 2023, a lead they'll look to extend.
