Basketball Game Preview: Towanda Black Knights vs. Sullivan County Griffins

The Towanda Black Knights will challenge the Sullivan County Griffins at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.

Towanda came up into this matchup off a tough 23-point loss on Wednesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Williamsport by a score of 45-42 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Black Knights have suffered since February 2, 2024.

Meanwhile, Sullivan County had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They had just enough and edged Montgomery out 35-33.

Sullivan County's victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-9. As for Towanda, they dropped their record down to 3-7 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Towanda strolled past Sullivan County when the teams last played back in January of 2024 by a score of 47-33. The rematch might be a little tougher for Towanda since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
