Basketball Recap: Rutherford Comes Up Short

Rutherford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 49-47 heartbreaker at the hands of the Crestview Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 486th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 87th).

Sean Johns had an outrageously good game for Crestview as he posted 19 points. Fabian Del Valle was another key player, putting up eight points.

Rutherford's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Crestview, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3.

Rutherford wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 61-45 loss against South Walton on the 2nd. Crestview has also already played their next game, a 46-32 win against Walton on the 30th.
