Soccer Game Preview: Rio Mesa vs. Dos Pueblos

The Rio Mesa Spartans will challenge the Dos Pueblos Chargers at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. Rio Mesa's last five contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Dos Pueblos will have to contend with a Rio Mesa team hungry for a victory, something the squad hasn't seen since December 19. Rio Mesa fell just short of San Marcos by a score of 1-0 on Saturday. The matchup was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but the Spartans couldn't quite close it out.

Meanwhile, after soaring to four goals the game before, Dos Pueblos was a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They came up short against Buena, falling 5-1.

Rio Mesa's loss dropped their record down to 1-11-5. As for Dos Pueblos, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1-7 and their overall record down to 6-3-7.
