Basketball Recap: Sun Valley's Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

Sun Valley lost to Merion Mercy Academy back in February of 2015, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Sun Valley Vanguards snuck past the Merion Mercy Academy Golden Bears with a 44-38 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Vanguards as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Sun Valley's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Merion Mercy Academy, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sun Valley won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Carver High School of Engineering & Science at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Merion Mercy Academy has already played their next contest (against Villa Joseph Marie), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
