Basketball Recap: Woodside Takes a Loss

Woodside lost against Newark Memorial back in February of 2018 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Woodside Wildcats fell 40-30 to the Newark Memorial Cougars.

Newark Memorial had a senior duo take command as Angelina Baca posted 19 points and Sydney Scott earned 11 points. Baca continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

Woodside has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Newark Memorial, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3.

Woodside won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Leigh at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Newark Memorial, they are taking a road trip to square off against American at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
