Rutgers Prep is a perfect 3-0 against Phillipsburg since April of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Argonauts will head out on the road to square off against the Stateliners at 4:00 p.m. Rutgers Prep is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.

While Rutgers Prep's win against The Pingry School wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Argonauts had just enough and edged out the Big Blue 5-3. The Argonauts haven't had any issues with the Big Blue recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Jake Treonze spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on eight hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Maddox Chu, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI. Mason Cimini also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last contest, Phillipsburg made sure to put some runs up on the board against Warren Hills Regional on Monday. The Stateliners were the clear victors by a 14-2 margin over the Blue Streaks. The matchup marked the Stateliners' most dominant win of the season.

Rutgers Prep's record now sits at 15-6. As for Phillipsburg, their record is now 13-11.

Rutgers Prep got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April against Phillipsburg by a conclusive 11-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Argonauts since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
