Baseball Game Preview: East Lansing Trojans vs. Howell Highlanders

The East Lansing Trojans will venture away from home to square off against the Howell Highlanders at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: East Lansing has struggled recently with ten defeats in a row, while Howell will arrive with three straight victories.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for East Lansing's offense. They lost 7-0 to Portage Northern on Wednesday.

The home team had won the previous two meetings between Howell and Milford, and Howell kept the tradition alive. The Highlanders sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over the Mavericks on Tuesday.

East Lansing's loss dropped their record down to 12-24-1. As for Howell, their victory bumped their record up to 29-12-1.

East Lansing couldn't quite get it done against Howell in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 7-3. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
