Basketball Game Preview: Summit Shasta Black Bears vs. Basis Independent Silicon Valley Bobcats

The Summit Shasta Black Bears will face off against the Basis Independent Silicon Valley Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Summit Shasta is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing El Camino: they outscored them in every quarter. Summit Shasta blew past El Camino 44-23 on Saturday. That looming 44-23 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Black Bears yet this season.

It was another big night for Niesha Ramirez, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 25 boards. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Summit Shasta's points. Chloe Macario was another key player, putting up eight points and four steals.

Summit Shasta smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Basis Independent Silicon Valley). They claimed a resounding 49-2 win over Apostles Lutheran. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 29-0.

The victory got Basis Independent Silicon Valley back to even at 2-2. As for Summit Shasta, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Everything went Summit Shasta's way against Basis Independent Silicon Valley when the teams last played back in November of 2017, as Summit Shasta made off with a 34-13 victory.
