Basketball Game Preview: Washington Huskies vs. Irvington Vikings

Washington hasn't had much luck against Irvington recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Washington Huskies will venture away from home to challenge the Irvington Vikings at 7:00 p.m. Irvington took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Washington, who comes in off a win.

On Monday, Washington needed a bit of extra time to put away King's Academy. They secured a 48-43 W over the Knights. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Huskies.

Meanwhile, Irvington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 38-33 heartbreaker at the hands of Mission San Jose. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 891st, while the Warriors are ranked 407th).

Washington pushed their record up to 18-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Irvington, their loss dropped their record down to 4-20.

Everything went Washington's way against Irvington when the teams last played back in January, as Washington made off with a 50-27 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Washington since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
