When it comes to explaining why Justin-Siena lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jordan Washington. Despite the final result, she scored 17 points along with 9 rebounds. Washington is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Lauren Keller, who scored 12 points along with 7 rebounds.
University's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Justin-Siena, their loss dropped their record down to 2-1.
University will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Balboa at 3:00 p.m. Balboa comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. Justin-Siena is on the road again on Thursday and play against McKinleyville at 7:30 p.m. on December 7th. McKinleyville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 622nd, while Justin-Siena is ranked 194th).
