Softball Recap: The Academy Has No Trouble Against Wray/Yuma + How To Watch

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask The Academy). They put the hurt on the Wray/Yuma Eagles with a sharp 16-3 win on Friday. With that victory, the Wildcats brought their scoring average up to 7.2 runs per game.

Aubree D'Ambrosio made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

In other batting news, The Academy let Finley Stark and Ali Velasquez run wild. Stark went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Velasquez went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. Those four RBI gave Velasquez a new career-high. Adrina Arenas was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

The Academy hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wray/Yuma struck out six times.

The Academy's win bumped their record up to 2-3.

The Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 10-9 victory against Platte Valley on the 22nd. As for Wray/Yuma, they have also already played their next game, a 19-4 win against Woodland Park on the 22nd.
