Soccer Game Preview: Dos Pueblos vs. San Marcos

The Dos Pueblos Chargers will head out on the road to square off against the San Marcos Royals at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Dos Pueblos' last three games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Dos Pueblos is headed into Thursday's following a draw, the team's first since December 17. Neither they nor Rio Mesa could gain the upper hand on Tuesday so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Meanwhile, San Marcos' game on Tuesday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Ventura. Given the Royals' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 288th, while the Cougars are ranked 650th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Dos Pueblos' draw gives them a new season record of 5-2-3. As for San Marcos, their win bumped their record up to 5-3-1.
