Baseball Recap: Augusta Christian Takes a Loss

Augusta Christian lost against Fox Creek back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Augusta Christian Lions took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fox Creek Predators.

Augusta Christian got a good showing from James Crescend, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Furthermore, Crescend didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in February.

At the plate, Augusta Christian saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddox Nuckols, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Nuckols brought in this season.

Augusta Christian's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Fox Creek, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Augusta Christian will take on Hammond at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hammond will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Augusta Christian surely won't give up without a fight. As for Fox Creek, they will square off against Newberry at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Newberry's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Fox Creek's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
