Soccer Game Preview: Centennial vs. El Modena + How To Watch

The Centennial Huskies and the El Modena Vanguards will compete for holiday cheer at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Centennial is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Temecula Valley just ended the team's five-match winning streak on Monday. Neither they nor the Golden Bears could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw. The result kept Centennial happy, as they haven't lost a game since December 1st.

Meanwhile, El Modena fell victim to Katella and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They came up short against the Knights, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, El Modena can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 323rd, while Katella are ranked 111th).

El Modena's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3-4. With that draw, Centennial's record moves to 5-1-1.

Centennial was able to grind out a solid victory over El Modena in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, winning 3-1. Will the Huskies repeat their success, or do the Vanguards have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
