Basketball Recap: Rancho Cucamonga Takes a Loss

Rancho Cucamonga and Moreno Valley squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Rancho Cucamonga had to settle for second. They came up short against the Moreno Valley Vikings, falling 61-40. The Cougars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-11.

Moreno Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bella Medina led the charge by going 6-for-10 to rack up 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alaysha Mills, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 boards.

Rancho Cucamonga has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 21-6 record this season. As for Moreno Valley, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 23-6.

Rancho Cucamonga does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Moreno Valley, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 64-41 victory against St. Monica on the 15th.
